General Event Help

Come help us make this years Harper’s a success! This is a bran new site so we’ll need a little more help than usual. There are many opportunities to help out during the weekend and several of them are appropriate for responsible teens. Anyone who helps with setup on Friday will be able to get onto site early. If you have specific questions, please contact the Event Steward at harpers_eventsteward@stonemarche.eastkingdom.org

Help at Gate

Gate will open Friday September 13th at 4pm and close at 12pm on Sunday September 15th. We ask that Gate Staff be age 14 and up due to the complexities of sign in, and in order to handle payments you must be an adult (18+) paid member.

I’d love your help at Gate. Yes, you! What do we do at Gate? Here’s a list of the main things you can expect as a Gate volunteer:

• One of the things we do is check in those who have preregistered (we will have a prepared list with names to be crossed off as people arrive)
• Checking membership documentation (if applicable) to ensure we have the correct info
• We also check in those who have not preregistered – this would include having people write their names down on a form, have them sign waivers (if applicable), and collecting payment in the form of cash or checks (we do not take credit cards!) and making change (if applicable)
• Hand out site tokens and program books (if applicable) and parking passes

Everyone is welcome to help at Gate! This year we are having Gate shifts in one-hour increments, which we hope will allow for flexibility. Training will be provided. We also encourage people new to the SCA to try it out. Most shifts are for two people so bring a friend! We will also provide snacks and water. Retain for Their Excellencies

We are looking for retainers for Their Excellencies Stonemarche for the Champions Events (Heavy, Thrown, Archery) on Saturday. Basically, make sure that they eat and drink their water and maybe help them carry a few things from event to event. Do you think you could spare an hour to help us help them? If so, then please fill out the attached google document.
